Eating Abroad Whilst Pregnant

Healthy meals are still important for you and your growing baby. Fortunately, it’s usually easy to find delicious healthy food while you’re on holiday. Try not to slip into the habit of eating fast food when you’re away. When you’re pregnant on holiday you may find yourself tucking into burgers, pizza and other fatty foods almost without realising it. The occasional takeaway won’t hurt, of course, but do keep your meals varied.

Eat plenty of fresh fruit and salad. If you’re in a hot country this will be tasty and refreshing. It’s also an easy way to get a good dose of vitamins, minerals and fibre. However, if you’re unsure whether the tap water is safe, you may want to be cautious about eating pre-washed salad and fruit. Peel and prepare them yourself with bottled water.
